Vilt Tibor, Marcel Duchamp,

I am Tamás Komlovszky-Szvet, a Hungarian sculptor. I have a multy-layered artistic interest. I am enthusiastic with the opportunities offered by the latest technological inventions. I use these innovations sociocritically and in an experimental way as well. My most recent project is the result of 5 years of work: an installation applying electro- magnetic levitation.

Art is one of the very few features that distinguish us from other species. The ability of shaping thoughts and emotions into an abstract work in order to communicate these feelings through the work is something that as far as we know only human beings are capable of.

My fascination in art is a very simple one. It derives from the wish to find a method that can communicate complex ideas. Art can be interpreted in a lot of ways, most of them different to what the artist had in mind.

But before art can be analyized by anyone, it must be experienced. In this moment, art has the chance to speak, to leave a footprint in peoples mind. Art therefore must be surprising in any form. People must be able to discover in art something they have not thought of before. If this happens, art suceeds, because it than has influenced the way people think.

And, by all the gods there might be...lets don't forget:

Humor is everything.

My installation process reflects a more humble approach to sculptural materials than the traditional modernist view of sculpture as a solid, unified object. Moving beyond the purely formal, I work with a handmade aesthetic that begins with collecting discarded materials. Then begins an intuitive process of carving and gluing refuse cardboard and Styrofoam, culminating in a careful balance with the space itself. This transformation of the space brings with it issues of scale and a blurring of the boundaries between sculpture and architecture.
